Demystifying the Eckles Prize for First Year Research Excellence

Washington, Washington
Are you a first year undergraduate student who has completed a high-quality research project? Join Elizabeth Kuntz and Taylor Baugher, co-coordinators of the Eckles Prize, to discuss how you can turn your project into a strong application for the Eckles Prize for First Year Research Excellence. First year undergraduate students win the Eckles Prize by submitting work that they’ve already completed in their first year at GW, but the process essay, written specifically for the prize application, is just as important. We’ll talk you through the various components of the application, and share some strategies that you can use to craft a high quality Eckles Prize submission. The submission window for the Eckles Prize will be open December 1–31 and again May 1–31. All sessions are free to GW students, faculty, staff, and alumni. GW has an institutional commitment to ensuring that all of our programs and events are accessible for all individuals. If you require any accommodations to participate in this event, please contact libraryevents@gwu.edu at least 72 business hours (3 business days) prior to the event.
