Workshop: AI for Text Analysis with Python Using LLMs Please join us on December 2 at 11am–1pm Boston / 8–10am Oakland / 4–6pm London, for the workshop "AI for Text Analysis with Python Using LLMs." This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. RSVP for the Zoom link for both the workshop and pre-workshop. AI allows humans to create a model that can act as an extension of the creator's mind and classify data based on predetermined categories. Manually tagging thousands of rows of data can often be cumbersome and time consuming, and working with AI can save researchers time and help catalyze data analysis on projects that would otherwise take an untenable number of working hours. This hands-on workshop introduces machine learning methods for working with text using large language models, and will teach participants how to use Claude for data transformation and text analysis in Python. Participants will use pandas to clean and manipulate a dataframe, then apply LLMs to classify and analyze textual data and evaluate the results. The optional pre-workshop covers the Python skills needed for the workshop; learners who are unfamiliar with loc functions and Python string methods should plan to attend, and all are welcome. An optional pre-workshop, “Introduction to Python,” will be held December 1, 11am–12:30pm Boston / 8–9:30am Oakland / 4–5:30pm London.
