Johnson Museum of Art, Floor 2L, Tompkins
Join us to celebrate the exhibition Cornell Art Faculty 2026. Meet participating artists and the curator, and enjoy light refreshments. This event is free and open to all, supported in part by the Mary Hyde Field Endowment. Faculty in Cornell’s Department of Art are invited to exhibit work at the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art every few years, providing an opportunity for both the university community and the broader public to reflect on the relationship between education and practice. Cornell’s art faculty are deeply engaged in studio-based teaching and strive to develop students into confident and independent artists in their own right. Work by Michael Ashkin, Matt Bollinger, Leslie Brack, Mark Anthony Brown Jr., Oscar Rene Cornejo, Christine Elfman, Julianne Hunter, Kyle Bellucci Johanson, Paul Ramírez Jonas , Carla Liesching, Joanna Malinowska, Leeza Meksin, Elisabeth Meyer, Nicholas Muellner, Keith Obadike, Carl Ostendarp, Maria Park, Jen de los Reyes, Jolene Rickard, Pauline Shongov, and Paulina Velázquez Solís will be on view. Following a series of studio and collection visits this summer, each faculty has selected a work from the Museum’s permanent collection to pair with their own contribution, demonstrating how many other makers, collections, and encounters exist alongside an artist’s own practice, giving new dimension to each in conversation. This exhibition was organized by Annie Abernathy, curatorial assistant at the Johnson Museum of Art, and supported in part by the Mary Hyde Field Endowment.
