Sri Muthumariamman Temple Matale Teru Festival 2004
Sri Muthumariamman Temple, Matale. The temple has five ornate chariots, which are used to convey statues of Hindu deities around the city on 'Ther' or 'Vettai Thiruvizha', the chariot ceremony day.which is held the day before 'Medin Poya' (the Poya day in March). Statues of 5 gods are placed in these chariots and taken around the city.If those gods Shiva, Mahadevi, Murugan and Chandeshvara Nayanar.Only a few chariots appear here.
