Río Grande, Puerto Rico

Río Grande (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈri.o ˈɣɾande]) is a town and municipality in northeastern Puerto Rico, east of Loíza and Canóvanas, north of Las Piedras, Naguabo, and Ceiba, and west of Luquillo. Immediately outside the urban core of the San Juan metropolitan area, Río Grande is spread over eight barrios and Río Grande Pueblo, its downtown area and administrative center. It is most widely known for containing the largest share of the tropical rainforest of the El Yunque National Forest in the Sierra de Luquillo mountain subrange, including its second-highest peak, the eponymous El Yunque.
