Saint John – Home of St. John's, capital of Antigua and Barbuda

Saint John, on the northwestern side of Antigua, is centred on the city of St. John's, the capital of Antigua and Barbuda and seat of the parish's Anglican church. Facing the Caribbean Sea and framed by some of the island's finest beaches, the parish has long been the heart of the country's life, trade and administration. Today more than half of the nation's population lives here – over 56,000 people according to a 2018 estimate. Saint John also includes the tiny uninhabited island of Redonda as a dependency. Its streets, harbour and neighbourhoods hold countless stories waiting to be told. Do you know stories from Saint John? Share them here in Local History!
