Saint Anne Sandy Point Parish – Sandy Point Town on the leeward coast
Saint Anne Sandy Point is the smallest parish on Saint Kitts by area, covering just five square miles, with Sandy Point Town as its capital. Located on the sheltered leeward coast, the town has long been a place where boats could land and trade, and it grew into a lively coastal town.
Like much of Saint Kitts, the parish was shaped by the sugar era, when plantations covered the slopes and enslaved Africans laboured in the fields. Their descendants built the communities, churches and traditions that give Sandy Point its character today. The parish combines fishing, farming and village life.
