Haa Dhaalu Atoll – South Thiladhunmathi and the town of Kulhudhuffushi
Haa Dhaalu, officially South Thiladhunmathi Atoll, comprises the southern section of the natural Thiladhunmathi Atoll, shared with Haa Alif, together with the small Makunudhoo Atoll and its large reef. The northern atolls of the Maldives have a long history of seafaring, trade and craftsmanship, and their island communities have preserved many traditions over the centuries.
The capital, Kulhudhuffushi, is one of the largest towns in the north and an important centre for trade and services for the surrounding islands. Today island life combines fishing, agriculture and new infrastructure. Do you have stories, photos or family memories from Haa Dhaalu? We warmly invite you to share them with our community!
