Praslin Quarter – a small historic quarter on the east coast

Praslin was once one of the historic quarters of Saint Lucia, a name dating back to the French colonial era. Since at least 2001 it has been part of Micoud District, and the censuses of 2001 and 2010 list it as such. With only a few hundred residents, it is today a small, close-knit community on the island's Atlantic side.

Life in Praslin has long been shaped by the sea and the land: fishing in the sheltered bay, farming on the surrounding hills and the traditions handed down through families. Even as a small community, it keeps a strong local identity and memories that connect generations. Do you know a story, tradition or family memory from Praslin? Share it with the community!
