Manus Province – the island province of the Admiralty Islands
Manus is the smallest province of Papua New Guinea in both land area and population — around 2,000 square kilometres and some 69,560 people — yet it looks after more than 220,000 square kilometres of sea. It is made up of the Admiralty Islands, a group of 18 islands in the Bismarck Archipelago, together with Wuvulu Island and nearby atolls in the west, known collectively as the Western Islands. Lorengau is the provincial town, and the province forms a single district with twelve local-level governments and 127 wards. Seafaring, fishing and island trade shape daily life.
