Anse Boileau – a fishing village beneath Mahé's green mountains

Anse Boileau, an administrative district in the south of Mahé, is often described as a fishing village, because many residents still make their living from the sea. It sits at the foot of a steep green mountain and on the shore of the Indian Ocean, with streams, small forests, creeks and ponds in its midst, so that it gathers in one place much of what defines the Seychellois landscape. The district has a school, a restaurant, grocery shops, a health centre and a police station, and lies a short distance from Anse La Mouche.
