Roche Caïman – a district created in 1998 on reclaimed land
Roche Caïman is one of the youngest districts of Seychelles: like neighbouring Les Mamelles, it was created in 1998 from reclaimed land and from parts of the former Plaisance District. That origin shapes its flat, planned layout on the east coast of Mahé. The district is best known for its football stadium, where the national team plays most of its home matches, so that its name is familiar to sports followers well beyond the islands. Around the stadium, housing and everyday facilities have grown into a lively neighbourhood. Share your memories, photographs and family stories with the community.
