Bel Ombre – a small fishing harbour on the coast of Mahé
Bel Ombre is an administrative district of Seychelles on the island of Mahé, stretching along the northwestern coast. Its heart is a small fishing harbour used for artisanal fishing, where crews go out in small boats and work with lines, a way of fishing that has been handed down through the generations and still supplies the local tables and markets. The district lies along the same wide bay as its busier neighbours, yet keeps a quieter, village-like character between the sea and the green slopes behind it.
