Port Glaud – two marine parks on the northwestern coast

Port Glaud is an administrative district on the northwestern coast of Mahé, covering 25 square kilometres, with a population of 2,174 recorded at the 2002 census and its main settlement in the village of Port Glaud. What sets the district apart is its protected sea: it contains two marine parks, Baie Ternay and Port Launay, whose sheltered bays and reefs are among the best known in the islands. The offshore islands of Thérèse and Conception also belong to the district, rising green out of the water. Share your memories, photographs and family stories with the community.
