Grand'Anse Praslin – the district of the island bird reserves
Grand'Anse Praslin is an administrative district of Seychelles located mostly on the island of Praslin. Its particular distinction lies offshore: the district also administers Cousin Island, Cousine Island, Booby Island and Aride Island, several of which are internationally known as sanctuaries where seabirds nest in great numbers and rare species have been brought back from the brink. On Praslin itself the district takes in the long western bay, its beaches, gardens and villages. Sea, conservation and everyday island life are closely intertwined here.
