Les Mamelles – a district created in 1998 on reclaimed land

Les Mamelles is an administrative district of Seychelles in the south of the Greater Victoria suburban area on Mahé, set inland from the neighbouring coastal district of Roche Caiman. It was created in 1998, mostly from reclaimed land and from parts of the former Plaisance district, which makes it one of the newest districts in the country; it does not yet have its own ISO 3166-2 code. It should not be confused with Mamelles Island, some thirteen kilometres northeast of Mahé. Today it is a lively residential neighbourhood close to the capital.
