South East CDC – the district along Singapore's eastern coast
The South East Community Development Council was set up on 24 November 2001, one of five CDCs created across Singapore to help administer government policies and schemes locally. Covering the scenic eastern coast, the district is home to more than 551,000 residents and takes in some of the island's most vibrant and historic neighbourhoods, among them Geylang Serai, Joo Chiat, Bedok, Marine Parade and Serangoon Central. Sea breezes, old shophouses, hawker centres and coastal parks give the district its distinctive character. Share your memories, photographs and neighbourhood stories with the community.
