North East CDC – the district of Singapore's growing new towns
The North East Community Development Council is one of five CDCs set up across the Republic of Singapore to help administer government policies and schemes at local level, funded in part by the government while also free to raise funds of its own. Its district covers the north-eastern part of the island, where established towns such as Ang Mo Kio, Hougang and Serangoon meet some of the country's newest housing areas in Sengkang and Punggol. Rapid growth, new parks and waterways shape daily life here. Share your memories, photographs and neighbourhood stories with the community.
