Lubombo – the eastern region beneath the Lubombo mountains

Lubombo lies in the east of Eswatini and takes its name from the Lubombo mountains that run along the country's eastern edge. It covers 5,849 square kilometres and had a population of 212,531 in 2017, which makes it the largest region by area. Its administrative centre is Siteki, and it is divided into 11 tinkhundla. Lubombo borders all three other regions: Hhohho to the north, Manzini to the west and Shiselweni to the south. The lowveld here is warm and open, with sugar estates, cattle and game reserves shaping the landscape. Share your memories, photographs and family stories with the community.
