San Juan–Laventille – Trinidad's smallest region beside the capital

San Juan–Laventille is the smallest of Trinidad's regions, covering just 220.39 square kilometres, yet it is among the most densely settled and busiest parts of the island. Lying immediately east of Port of Spain and reaching to St. Joseph, it has long formed part of the urban belt that grew along the island's north-western corridor. Its communities include Barataria, Laventille, Morvant and San Juan, each with its own character and strong traditions in music and community life. The Regional Corporation is headquartered at MTS Plaza in Aranguez. If you have memories, old photographs or family stories from this corner of Trinidad, we would be glad to see you share them here.
