Princes Town – the broad farming region of southern Trinidad

Princes Town is one of the larger regions of Trinidad and Tobago, covering some 620 square kilometres of southern countryside between rolling hills and the south coast. Its administrative seat is the town of Princes Town, home to the Princes Town Regional Corporation, and the region reaches from Ben Lomond, Williamsville and Cedar Hill in the west to Tableland, Fifth Company and the coastal district of Moruga in the south-east. Sugar, cocoa and small farming long shaped these villages, and the region still has a distinctly rural character with a scattering of busy market centres. Its electoral districts fall within four national constituencies. Members are warmly invited to share their own memories, photographs and family stories.
