Aiga-i-le-Tai – the islands of Manono and Apolima
Aiga-i-le-Tai takes in the small islands of Manono and Apolima and the tiny uninhabited Nuʻulopa, lying in the Apolima Strait between Upolu and Savaiʻi, together with part of the mainland at the western end of Upolu. Manono has historically been the centre of the district, and its influence in Samoan politics has always been far greater than its size would suggest. Today the main centre is Mulifanua, where the ferry terminal links the two main islands. With an area of only 27 square kilometres and 5,029 residents at the 2016 census, it is the smallest electoral district in the country. Share your own memories and photographs here.
