Stoney Ground – one of the more populous districts of Anguilla

With 1,549 residents at the 2011 census, Stoney Ground is one of the more populous of Anguilla's fourteen districts. Its story is the island's story: a small, low-lying coral island in the Caribbean where families have long lived from the sea, from the building trades and from hospitality, and where community life is carried by churches, schools and neighbourly help. Districts here are less administrative units than places people belong to, and most residents can still say who lived in which house a generation ago. Today Stoney Ground remains a busy, everyday kind of place. If you grew up here, tell us what has changed over the years, and what never will.
