The Farrington – a small district in Anguilla's community of fourteen
The Farrington is one of the fourteen districts of Anguilla and recorded 624 residents at the 2011 census. It is a small community on a low, dry coral island in the Caribbean, where family land, churches and neighbourly ties have carried community life across generations. Anguillian history has been shaped by seafaring, fishing and boat-building, by periods of work overseas, and by the return of families who brought skills and savings home. In districts of this size, that history is preserved above all in memory rather than in archives. Today The Farrington is a quiet residential district. Help us write its history down: share your recollections, family names and photographs.
