Anse aux Pins – the Mahé district that includes Soleil Island
Anse aux Pins is an administrative district of Seychelles on the island of Mahé, and Soleil Island belongs to it, so the district takes in both a stretch of mainland coast and its own small island. Its French name recalls the trees that once marked the shoreline. Life here has long been oriented to the reef and the lagoon, with fishing, boat work and garden plots supporting families, while Creole language, cooking and music give the community its voice.
