The Peninsula has much to offer visitors.
From a tourist's perspective, the most important tourist attractions along the Peninsula are the coastal drive along California State Route 1, Stanford University near Palo Alto, and Filoli, a historic country house in Woodside.
In addition to Filoli, other historic sites include the San Mateo County History Museum in the historic county courthouse in Redwood City and the San Francisco Bay Discovery Site on Sweeney Ridge in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, just west of San Bruno.
For visitors interested in Silicon Valley and the tech industry, the most important tech company headquarters on the Peninsula include YouTube in San Bruno, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Roblox in San Mateo, and Meta Platforms and Instagram in Menlo Park. Oracle Corporation's former headquarters in Redwood Shores is also visually striking. Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park is famous for some of the most expensive commercial real estate on Earth.
